The box, the world in boxes
Seen from a distance, on a lorry or on the quayside, containers all look alike. And yet, did you know that in just a few decades, this very ordinary metal box has become the cornerstone of maritime trade and globalization and do you know what have been the consequences on port and sea-going jobs of such changes in our modes of consumption and where will we go next in terms of growth in traffic and the size of ships ?
The exhibition, designed by the Port museum of Douarnenez and reinterpreted and adapted by the Port museum of Dunkerke looks at all these questions and many others ; an exciting opportunity to explore the container in all its forms.
